Study paper 2003 found that “Trained dogs were 95.93% accurate in finding Eastern subterranean termite workers (positive indications) and incorrectly indicated the presence of termites in 2.69% of the containers without termites”.
Able to sniff out areas inaccessible to humans.. we can detect termites from the surface of a sub floor if we can’t get under and in timbers where there is no external evidence such as behind walls.
Eliminates possibility of human error who studies suggest have less than 50% accuracy compared to dogs 96%.
